With over 35 years in Quality and Engineering, plays a crucial role in the continual improvement of the Group’s processing procedures. From introducing leaner production systems and optimising tool designs, Richard is responsible for improving the Group’s productivity while finding ways to streamline the production line.
Senior Manufacturing Engineer isn’t the first role Richard has had with the Group. In 2005, Richard joined UKF Stainless as the Quality Engineer. Over the next 11 years, he worked his way up to the position of Group Quality Manager, before leaving in March 2016 for a new challenge. When asked how the Group has changed since the last time he was here, Richard responded, “It’s bigger! There’s a new site in Coventry now, loads of new machines and the offices have even changed. It’s evident – just walking around the HQ – that there’s been ongoing investments in new technology and services.”
Since rejoining the Group in 2018, Richard’s day-to-day tasks involves looking after some of the Group’s key accounts through consultations and order management. As the Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Richard is responsible for the ongoing improvements in our manufacturing capabilities, to match the growing demands the Group faces.
Outside of work, Richard can be found on the golf course or walking his two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Max and Ruby. He also has a knack for D.I.Y., having recently refitted a new bathroom and landscaped a friend’s garden.
