Only two weeks after completing the Gung-Ho! Challenge, Team UKF Group were at it again! Marketing Executive, Chris Ridley, and I.T. Manager, Sam Halfpenny were warming up at Sanders Park, Bromsgrove in preparation for the Timberhonger 10k, the latest fundraising event from the team.

After raising over £700 in June by completing the Gung-Ho! 5km Inflatable Course, Team UKF Group were eager to raise more than just their heart rate. We caught up with the pair before the race to learn why UKF Group chose Get A-Head as their charity of choice:

“Our chairman (Phil Morris) witnessed first-hand, in the hospitals in Birmingham, the support [Get A-Head] provide to their patients. Since this, the UKF Group have strived, as much as we can, to support the Get A-Head Charitable Trust.” – Sam Halfpenny, UKF Group

The pair raised over £200 via their JustGiving Page. Next year, Sam will be participating in the London Marathon 2019 – along with Operations Director Chris Morris – on behalf of the UKF Group and the Get A-Head Charitable Trust.

Get A-Head is an independent charity supporting patients of head and neck diseases and cancers. Their mission is to raise funds to directly help improve the quality of life for patients. This is achieved through subsidising specialist equipment to improve the chance of correct diagnosis and funding research and education programmes.
